Gruien the Boneless | 7000 | 400cr | Gruien II takes the throne, but is unable to retain the support of his Lords when he attempts to conquer the rest of the Periphery. He is displaced by his cousin, Hastur I |
Crusader King Hasrur the II | 7050 | 450cr | Hastur II takes the throne; The “Crusader King” leads a pogrom on Witchcraft as an excuse to conquer Permot to the west and the lands surrounding the Sea of Tears. |
March of the Heretics | 7110 | 510cr | The Court of Coventry becomes a hotbed of Devil-worship, giving rise to the Heresy of the Crimson Mantle, who seed Cambion bastards among the lesser nobility seeking to challenge the line of Gruien’s draconian heritage. Queen Cassilda, seeking power to regain control of her aristocracy, travels to the ghost city of Carcosa,; she returns a madwoman, preaching the heresy of Cassilda’s Song. |
Inquisitor King Hastur the III | 7190 | 590cr | Hastur III leads a second pogrom, this time with a secular inquisition against practitioners of demonology and witchcraft within the court. It quickly spirals out of control among the peasantry, who’s death count easily eclipses that of the royal Inquisition. |
Rise of the Machine | Machenaean innovations in technology begin trickling in to Coventry through trade, including Black Powder guns, steam-engines & clockwork wonders. | ||
Rise of the Midnight Order | 7290 | 690cr | The Trinitarian Church becomes dominant in Coventry, wresting control of the Inquisition from secular authority, bending it instead towards matters of heresy; Worshipers of the Crimson Mantle and Cassilda’s Song are purged from power at court.. |
Testing of the Hungry Forest | 7380 | 780cr | Several expeditions deep into the Morfairsing give initial suggestions that it might be safe for resettlement, but cease to send word once colonies are established. |
Rise of Permot independence | 7430 | 830cr | rise of Guild dominance in Permot secures trade-relations among the Periphery Kingdoms; Permot gains limited independence under Coventry rule. |
